a good day

today was a pretty good day for the following 3 reasons:

1. it was warm enough to sit down by the river and read w/out freezing my buns off, so i did. the rest of the week promises to be similar, which is definitely what spring should be like.

2. i just got back from seeing the orb live at avalon. pat fontes did the opening set, which was good stuff, then thomas fehlmann dj'ed some really nice bouncy kompakt (i think) stuff, then dr alex paterson came out and together they played some really good techno, including a version of little fluffy clouds that sounded like the pal joey mix + "when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's amore". a strange combination. then paterson played some wierd tracks, including a very dubbed out version of free bird (this is not a joke)! i assume that one's a white label. it was actually kinda cool. i wouldn't mind having it.

3. when i got back from the river, a big flat package came for me! direct from ebay, neil merryweather's space rangers, notable for the track 'sunshine superman' which shadow flipped for latyrx' 'say that'. the jacket had some water damage, so i scored it pretty cheap. i'ma listen to it tomorrow.
